How Renewables and Fossil Fuels Power Electricity

Explainer

  • How much of your power comes from renewable sources? This data group shows the proportion of electricity that comes from renewables.
  • Fuels included are solar, wind, hydro and bioenergy. They're called 'renewable' because the fuel source can be replenished. The jagged lines indicate seasonality. Renewables are stronger when there is more sun and wind.
  • Trend data updated at end of month. WA and NT not currently included.
